Supermicro And Fujitsu Partner For AI-Powered Server: What's In Store?

Super Micro Computer, Inc. and Fujitsu Limited have announced a long-term partnership to create a new platform incorporating Fujitsu's upcoming Arm-based processor, FUJITSU-MONAKA. This platform is aimed at delivering high-performance computing with efficient energy use, slated for release in 2027. Together, the companies will also develop liquid-cooled systems poised to enhance high performance computing, AI generation, and the evolution of cutting-edge green data centers.

By pooling expertise, Fujitsu and Supermicro intend to establish a leading server portfolio. Supermicro’s adaptable Building Block architecture allows for rapid server customization, beneficial for AI, high-performance computing, and general computing needs in both cloud and edge environments. This collaboration will extend to Fujitsu's subsidiary, Fsas Technologies Inc., leveraging Supermicro’s GPU servers and support services for providing comprehensive generative AI solutions across data centers and business enterprises.

Charles Liang, the President and CEO of Supermicro, has expressed enthusiasm regarding the partnership, emphasizing the delivery of state-of-the-art, cost-effective servers that optimize for power efficiency and high performance. Liang highlighted the focus on a variety of workloads across AI, high-performance computing, and cloud and edge applications. The partnership will emphasize green IT designs, utilizing energy-saving techniques such as liquid cooling on a large scale to reduce the environmental impact of technological advancements.
